Cabins in the Woods

This architectural project presents a significant challenge to the prevailing notions of staycation residence. Situated within a prestigious hotel & country estate in Scotland, the project encompasses three distinct cabin typologies that are fully integrated into the surrounding topography.

The first cabin, Cabin 01, is located on a steep gradient and among the treetops, offering a singular perspective on the surrounding landscape. A hallmark of the cabin is its large single aspect window, providing an unobstructed view of the night sky for astronomical observations.

The second cabin, Cabin 02, is situated at the end of a picturesque lochan and features a built-in jetty, enabling a range of aquatic activities. This cabin provides a serene and tranquil environment, ideal for those seeking respite from the demands of modern life.

Finally, Cabin 03 is a circular structure that rests on the woodland floor, offering a deep and introspective space for reflection and contemplation. Its inward-facing design provides a connection with nature and a peaceful escape from the external world.

This project represents a pioneering approach to staycation residences, pushing the boundaries of conventional design. It provides a glimpse into the future of residence design and invites discerning individuals to experience a new level of sophistication and comfort.
